Welcome to Troop 16,
Livingston, New Jersey
(National Troop Number 5216)
We are a Boy-Led Troop. We believe in the principle that the Troop belongs to the Scouts. Troop 16 is led by the boys who are elected by their peers. The Adult Leaders provide guidance, and oversight so that the Scouts will have a safe program that adheres to the Guide to Safe Scouting. The Scouts will become independent leaders, and learn life skills which could be used during their lifetime. Scouts will learn to become an effective leader by performing the duties of the leadership positions he holds as he moves through his scouting journey. The Scouts Patrol Leaders Council will plan, and execute their programs for weekly troop meetings, and outdoor skills programs on camping trips and other activities.
Troop 16 meets every Wednesday night through the school year from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Saint Joseph Hall on the Saint Philomena Church Grounds — 386 South Livingston Avenue, Livingston, NJ 07039.
Troop 16 has been chartered by Saint Philomena Roman Catholic Church since 1947. The first Adult Leaders were three WWII Veterans returning from the war. They used Army surplus tents, and cooking equipment for Troop 16.
Boy Scouts of America Troop 16 is part of the Northern New Jersey Council, Lenape Trail District. www.nnjbsa.org
