On April 17-18, Scouts and Leaders from Livingston Boy Scout Troop 16 backpacked for two days and covered 15 miles along the Appalachian Trail (AT) in New Jersey as one of the requirements for the Hiking Merit Badge.

The hike started in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Forest and ended at the Pennsylvania border.   As part of the backpacking trip, the Scouts practiced Wilderness Survival when camping overnight on the AT.  The views along the AT included vistas of NJ , PA and the Delaware River.   Some of the highlights of the trip included relaxing at Sunfish Pond, seeing various wildlife including hawks, and frogs.
